For five years running, Tel-X has provided parts and assistance to the University of Michigan’s Solar Car racing team.

The Wolverines have learned how to build a consistent winner, placing third or better in a number of national and international races, including first overall in the inaugural Abu Dhabi Solar Race in January of this year.

Our team of engineers in Garden City has joined forces with the talented group of students in Ann Arbor to develop the next generation of renewable automotive technology—under tight deadlines.

We know how important it is to work fast. Three years ago, the University’s team car suffered a little bump in the road—a crash during a practice run. The team needed a wheel hub machined, and they needed it fast.

Our engineers jumped on the job, machining the part in one day and shipping it overnight so that development and testing of the U-M car could continue.

In exchange for placing our logo on the side of their prototype, the folks in Ann Arbor can count on receiving whatever they need from Tel-X’s machining and fabrication experts.

We are proud to congratulate Michigan on winning the Abu Dhabi race, and will continue to provide parts and service to this year’s model so that the next generation of engineers and technicians are equipped to compete against the best in the country, and the world.
